Otis Kellan
Otis Kellam was born in Lamesa, Texas and graduated from Monterey High School in Lubbock, Texas. During almost his entire childhood, he participated in Trampoline and Power Tumbling. Meanwhile, on his Dad's family side, they loved to swim and swim laps. That is when his grandmother took him to a public pool to learn swimming when he was 5 years old. Otis proudly received a Bachelor of Science in Recreation and Leisure Studies at Gallaudet University. While he was studying at Gallaudet University, he swam a lot more, became a lifeguard and that led to today.
Of this currently, Otis' job position is an Aquatics/Athletic Assistant. As an Aquatics Assistant, he runs the pool to make sure all schedules are worked out to use the pool between TSD swim teams, PE classes, PIP, ELC, school classes, dorms, after school activities, staff swim laps and outside groups. He also led the lifeguards and himself to make sure to cover the hours at the pool for TSD students and staff as well as the field trips related to water activities. Lastly, he keeps the pool clean and safe as much as possible. On the other side, Otis is coach for SOTX Swim Team, HS and MS Winter Swim Team and Sea Rangers Summer Swim League. Also, his supervisor and he became a lifeguard instructor team to provide lifeguard training classes to TSD staff and students. The rest of his job as an Athletic Assistant, he supports and arranges the Athletic Department's big sport events.
Other than all above, Otis loves outdoor activities such as swimming, SUP/kayaking, hiking and camping. Workout, stretching out, yoga and swim many laps as well. He also loves to international food, takes care of his plants and hangs out with his cherish family
