TSD Rangers vs John Paul II - Recap - Oct. 17

The Texas School for the Deaf Rangers now have a 3-4 record, after losing a heartbreaking game to John Paul II Guardians (4-4) at their home, 27 - 24. The Rangers led 24-14 going into fourth quarter, but the Guardians were able to put an additional 13 points at the last minute for the win.

TSD's passing game suffered this time around, with Junior Elonzo Arellano throwing 5 completions for 23 yards, and Sliva-Wynne catching 2 for 20 yards. The Rangers’ rushing was better this time, with TSD rushing 25 times for a total of 132 yards. Junior Austin Silva-Wynne rushed for 106 on 10 carries. Silva-Wynne also reined in three touchdowns, Freshman Gareth Ashton added in two 2-point PATs, and Sophomore Stone Leiker added the final 2-point PAT on the scoreboard for a total of 24 for TSD.

The Rangers (3-4) play Sacred Heart (3-4) this Friday at 730 pm. This will be TSD’s fourth district game. TSD has 1 win and 2 losses in Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS) Division III, District 3, while Sacred Heart is currently 3-0. TSD is currently ranked sixth in the district line up, considerably behind Sacred Heart at second.
