TSD Welcomes Darren Drolsbaugh as New Athletics Administrative Assistant

We are thrilled to announce the addition of Darren Drolsbaugh as the new Athletics Administrative Assistant at the Texas School for the Deaf, beginning August 1st.

In this role, Darren will support the coordination of athletic programs. He brings a strong background in athletics, event support, and youth development to our team.

Darren previously served as a Day Residential Educator at TSD during the 2024–2025 school year and as a Curriculum Assistant at the Pennsylvania School for the Deaf from 2023–2024. A proud alumnus of Model Secondary School for the Deaf (MSSD), Darren graduated from Gallaudet University in 2023 with a Bachelor of Science in Risk Management and Insurance.

While at Gallaudet, Darren was a five-year member of the Bison baseball team (2018–2023) and also contributed behind the scenes as a Sports Information Assistant for the Gallaudet Athletics Department, assisting with game day operations across all sports seasons. He was also a part-time weight room assistant and an active member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

After graduating, Darren proudly represented Team USA at the 2024 World Deaf Baseball Championship in Taiwan, helping secure a silver medal. He now serves on the board of USA Deaf Baseball as the Youth Programs Coordinator, where he is dedicated to growing opportunities for young deaf baseball players nationwide.

Darren is excited to return to TSD and support the continued growth of the school’s athletic programs. He brings a genuine passion for sports, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to empowering student-athletes.

Outside of work, Darren enjoys weightlifting, cheering on his favorite Philly sports teams, and spending time with his two dogs, Millie and Stormie.

Please join us in welcoming Darren to the TSD Athletics team!
