About Darren Drolsbaugh
Darren Drolsbaugh was recently appointed as TSD’s new Athletics Administrative Assistant at the Texas School for the Deaf. In this role, he supports the coordination of athletic programs and game day operations. Drolsbaugh previously worked as a Day Residential Educator for TSD (2024-2025) and as a Curriculum Assistant at Pennsylvania School for the Deaf (2023-2024).
An alumnus of the Model Secondary School for the Deaf (MSSD), Darren graduated from Gallaudet University in 2023 with a Bachelor of Science in Risk Management and Insurance. During his time at Gallaudet, Darren was a dedicated baseball player of the Gallaudet baseball team (2018–2023). While being a student-athlete, Darren contributed to the Gallaudet Athletics Department where he worked as a Sports Information Assistant from 2021 to 2023 under Sam Atkinson, a highly decorated Associate Athletic Director for Communications, assisting with game day operations for fall, winter, and spring sports. Drolsbaugh was also a part-time weightroom assistant from 2021-2023 and a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (2021).
After graduating, Darren represented the USA Deaf Baseball team at the 2024 World Deaf Baseball Championship in Taiwan, where he helped the team secure a 2nd place medal. Since then, Darren serves as a board member for USA Deaf Baseball, acting as the Youth Programs Coordinator to contribute to the growth of deaf baseball.
Darren is excited to give back to TSD athletics, bringing his passion for sports and experience in event coordination to support the growth and success of the school’s athletic programs.
Outside of his professional and athletic commitments, Darren enjoys weightlifting, watching Philly sports, and spending time with his two dogs, Millie and Stormie.
