After their first loss of the season, the Texas School for the Deaf Rangers (3-1) rebounded with a 50-13 victory over Faith Academy High School (0-3) in their first district game.

Junior quarterback Elonzo Arellano threw for 198 yards on 13 of 18 passing with four touchdowns, the most of his high school career. On the receiving end of those touchdowns were junior Iosif Shayman with seven catches for 97 yards and two touchdowns and junior Alvin Anthony with two catches for 40 yards and two touchdowns. Juniors Dalton Taylor and Jian Bergeron were also on the receiving end; Taylor with two catches for 34 yards and a two-point conversion; Bergeron with one catch for 25 yards.

The Rangers also rushed for 294 yards. Junior Justin Akers exploded for 102 yards on seven carries and a touchdown. Junior Alvin Anthony added 78 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries. On top of his 198 yards passing, Arellano added 50 yards rushing on five carries and converted a two-point conversion. Bergerson was also successful on a two-point conversion and had 19 yards rushing on three carries. Sophomore Stone Leiker converted his 2 point attempt and also added one touchdown.

The Rangers will look to continue their offensive success next Thursday at home against the Savio High School Eagles (1-3). This is the last non-conference game for the Rangers.
