The Texas School for the Deaf varsity girls basketball team captured the championship at the annual SoCo Basketball Classic this past weekend.
Following the withdrawal of Coram Deo Academy (Plano), the Classic featured two games. TSD defeated Austin Waldorf 36–18 on Friday and earned another strong victory over Valor South Austin 60–30 on Saturday.
Senior Sulianie Casella and junior Melanie Rubinshteyn were named to the All-Tournament Team for their outstanding performances.
This championship marks the team’s third tournament title of the season and improves their overall record to 15–1.
