Texas School for the Deaf (TSD) proudly hosted Clerc Classic XXIII from January 16-18, welcoming eight deaf schools from across the nation for a three-day tournament featuring boys' and girls' basketball and a cheerleading competition.
Participating schools included:
- California School for the Deaf, Riverside
- California School for the Deaf, Fremont
- Indiana School for the Deaf
- Florida School for the Deaf and Blind
- Model Secondary School for the Deaf
- Maryland School for the Deaf
- New Mexico School for the Deaf
- Texas School for the Deaf
This year marked the third time TSD has hosted the prestigious event, with previous tournaments held in 2011 and 2017. Recognized as one of the premier athletic events for deaf schools, Clerc Classic brings together student-athletes, coaches, families, and fans to celebrate sportsmanship and community. This year, over 1,000 fans and 300 participants attended, making it a truly memorable experience.
The success of this tournament would not have been possible without the dedication from the athletics department and his hardworking team, who spent months planning the event. A special thanks also goes to our incredible volunteers and generous sponsors for their support.
Congratulations to the Champions!
