Hoy XVII Tournament Recap

The Hoy XVII tournament hosted by the California School for the Deaf - Riverside last weekend was exciting from start to finish. Our baseball team played well on Friday beating both California Schools for the Deaf (Riverside and Fremont) during the pool play. Since we finished undefeated in the pool play, we qualified to play in the championship game against the Maryland School for the Deaf on Saturday in which we lost 5-18. We made too many mental errors which really hurt us during the championship game. Keep in mind that we have only one senior on the team. We will come back stronger next year.
What can I say about our dominant softball team? "Dominating", "deep-talent", "the best team I have ever seen" are some of the comments I heard from the coaches and athletic directors about our softball team. Our team won two games during the pool play on Friday and won the bracket tournament on Saturday. The cumulative of the four games' scores is 63-14. Also, it is our third consecutive year winning the Hoy softball championship!
Congratulations to the entire baseball and softball teams and coaches for their excellent performance and sportsmanship last weekend in Riverside, California.
